Differentiate Scalping, Intraday and Swing Trading

Everyone has their own uniqueness, starting from their personality, talents and preferences. The same thing also happened to trading, both stocks, forex, gold. The difference in character between one trader and another will make each of them have a different trading character.

These traders have their own basis of analysis in determining steps to pursue profits, and also have different considerations in looking at their trading timeframe. Trading type is closely related to the character of a forex trader. The character of each forex trader himself is also different from one another, which is why the types of trading are also different. However, there are still many forex traders who don't know what type of trader really is. Here are the common types of traders present in the forex market:

Scalping

Scalping is a trading style that is carried out in a very short time, usually in seconds or minutes. This trading style is very active, but only trying to get a small profit. This trading style is usually carried out in high frequency or a large number of transactions. The main goal of scalping is to get as few pips as possible. So don't be surprised if you see a scalper who often exits the market after getting just a few pips.

The drawback of this method is in terms of spread. Because traders often enter and exit the market, traders will be charged spread fees quite often. However, this can still be overcome by seeking profits in the amount of twice the spread required by the trader's broker.

Swing Trading

If you cannot control the course of trading on the sidelines of the main work as used in the day trading method, then traders can choose to use the swing trading method. The essence of this method is to identify swings or points where prices reverse. It is at this point that traders take positions to seek profits. Usually, swing traders hold their positions for more than one day. Therefore, many traders widen their stop loss distance to anticipate the dynamics of price movements that occur in lower time frames.
